Awards, football, and competitive mortgage rates as the sun shines

Last week I mentioned that Coreco won their 15th major award in 5 years, well a couple of days ago the Industry Oscars came to town in the form of the British Mortgage Awards.

Coreco were up for three Awards and I am delighted to say that in a stunning swoop, we bagged all three!

Well done to Louise Kelleher who won Best Broker for First Time Buyers, Matthew Yassin who won Best Specialist Broker and our very own MD Matt Lowndes who won the Best Business Leader Broker (Under 40 advisers) for the 3rd year running!

So that is now 18 major awards in the past 5 years which really is a stunning achievement and is a testament to our fabulous people and how we work. This also means that we now have 7 individual award winners who work at Coreco, so we really can say we are an award-winning team!

I have not yet mentioned the football but suffice to say we can all feel proud of the way the team performed. Not many would have predicted we would have got to extra time in the World Cup Semi-Final.

In fact, we can all learn something from the England team. They conducted themselves professionally, were inclusive, well managed, kept any issues within their walls, worked as a team, encouraged & were there for each other no matter what. Meanwhile, Southgate was the epitome of a leader. No doubt success will come.

Back to earth with mortgage rates and whilst there is still talk of an increase in August, the season of the “Summer Sizzler” is upon us. So expect competitive rates whilst the sun shines.

At present 2-year fixes are available at 1.39%, (4.10% APRC) and 5-year fixes from 1.80%, (3.20% APRC) whilst variable discounted rates are around from 0.99%, (4.37% APRC).

Those looking at a Buy-To-Let can still obtain products from just 1.37%, (4.43% APRC) for a 2-year fix.
